Overview

The AWR2E44PEVM is an easy-to-use evaluation board for the AWR2E44P mmWave sensing device, with direct connectivity to the DCA1000EVM.This EVM kit contains everything needed to start developing software for the on-chip ARM® Cortex-R5F® controller, and hardware accelerator (HWA 2.1). Also included is on-board emulation for programming and debugging as well as on-board buttons and LEDs for quick integration of a simple user interface.

  • On-chip digital signal processor C66x and Arm Cortex-R5F core controller (supports lock-step operation) at 400MHz
  • TI radar hardware accelerator (HWA2.1 at 400MHz) for operations like FFT, log magnitude and memory compression
  • Supports 60-pin high-speed interface for host-controlling interface and direct interface with DCA1000 development kit ecosystem

Release Information

The MMWAVE MCUPLUS SDK enables the development of 2nd generation millimeter wave (mmWave) radar applications using TI mmWave sensors (see list of supported Platform / Devices).The SDK provides foundational components which will facilitate end users to focus on their applications.

What's new

  • AWR2x44P: Out of Box (OOB) demo supporting for AWR2x44ECO (TDM, DDM) and AWR2x44LC (DDM) devices
  • AWR2x44P / AWR294x: Improved execution timing and memory usage for Doppler DPU (DDM). Added real 2X mode and using previous frame's DC estimates in Range DPU (DDM)
  • AWR2x44P / AWR294x: Enabled CFAR-CA(SO) option from the CLI to improve the overall execution timing
  • AWR2x44P: Enabled compile time option to execute AoA elevation processing on R5F or DSP
  • AWR2x44P / AWR294x: Added direct interrupt configuration for DSP (C66 core)

The Code Composer Studio™ IDE is a complete integrated suite that enables developers to create and debug applications of all Texas Instruments Embedded Processors (Sitara, DSP, Automotive, Keystone), Microcontrollers (SimpleLink™, C2000 Digital Control, MSP430, TM4C, Hercules), as well as Digital Power (UCD) and Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA) devices.


CCS v20 is TI’s next generation Integrated Development Environment (IDE) based on Theia IDE framework. CCS v20.2.0 uses a modified version of the Theia-IDE framework and offers a user experience similar to Visual Studio Code™.

mmWave Studio GUI is designed to characterize and evaluate TI mmWave sensor devices. This package includes the GUI, associated tools and firmware for the performance evaluation of TI mmWave sensor devices. For more information please refer to the MMWAVE Studio User Guide and Release note.
