Overview

The TMDS243 evaluation module (EVM) is a standalone test and development platform for evaluating AM243x functionality and developing prototypes for a variety of applications. TMDS243EVM is equipped with the larger form factor Sitara™ AM2434 ALV microcontroller unit (MCU) and additional components that allow the user to make use of the security features on the MCU, as well as various device interfaces, including industrial Ethernet, standard Ethernet, peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe), fast serial interface (FSI) and others to easily create prototypes. This EVM provides a larger peripheral set than the LP-AM243 LaunchPad™ as it is equipped with the larger form factor AM243 ALV package.

An onboard display makes use of AM243x serial peripheral interface (SPI) ports to provide the ability for local visual outputs in addition to the LEDs. Onboard current-measurement capabilities are available to monitor power consumption for power-conscious applications.

The supplied USB cable, paired with embedded emulation logic, allows for emulation and debugging using standard development tools, such as the Code Composer Studio™ integrated development environment (IDE) (CCSTUDIO).

Note that TMDS243EVM is the newest version of TMS243GPEVM. TMDS243EVM includes high-security field-securable (HS-FS) silicon to customize keys and encryption for security applications

Release Information

Thank you for your interest in the AM243x Industrial Communications Software Development Kit (SDK). This software accelerates application development schedules by eliminating the need to create basic system software functions from scratch.

  • This SDK contains examples, libraries, and tools to develop RTOS-based Industrial Communication, Fieldbus, and networking applications on PRU-ICSS.
  • The exact content of the SDK depends on the capabilities of the device, but all devices share common APIs and build on existing proven software components to ensure reliability and quality.
  • The software components are fully tested to ensure that they work together with TI’s Code Composer Studio integrated development environment.

What's new

  • Official PROFIBUS & PROFINET International (PI) certified PROFINET example on AM243x.
  • Starting from Industrial Communications SDK 11.00.00.13, using the EtherCAT example from the Production Package of the SDK requires downloading the Beckhoff SSC stack from the ETG website and rebuilding the library.
  • For EtherCAT example evaluation without access to Beckhoff SSC, the Evaluation Package can be used.

Thank you for your interest in the AM243x Motor Control Software Development Kit (SDK). This software accelerates application development schedules by eliminating the need to create basic system software functions from scratch.

  • This SDK contains examples, libraries, and tools to develop RTOS and no-RTOS based applications enabling real-time communication for position and current sense from motors, and real-time control libraries
  • This SDK also includes Industrial Communications SDK and MCU+ SDK.
  • The exact content of the SDK depends on the capabilities of the device, but all devices share common APIs and build on existing proven software components to ensure reliability and quality.
  • The software components are fully tested to ensure that they work together with TI’s Code Composer Studio integrated development environment

NOTE: In Motor Control SDK 11.00.00 (production package), using the EtherCAT example from Industrial Communications SDK 11.00.00.13 or EtherCAT example for TIDEP-01032 EtherCAT-Connected Single-Chip Dual-Servo Motor Drive Reference Design requires downloading the Beckhoff SSC stack from the ETG website and rebuilding the library as described in the following documentation
