The TUSB2514B is a 4-port Hi-Speed USB hub that supports USB Hi-Speed
(480Mbps) and Full-Speed (12Mbps) connections on the upstream port. The device also
provides USB Hi-Speed, Full-Speed, or Low-Speed (1.5Mbps) connections on the four
downstream ports. The TUSB2514B hardware-based state machine eliminates firmware
injection risks, enabling secure deployment in enterprise and datacenter
applications without an external microcontroller.
All four
downstream ports comply with the USB Battery Charging Specification Rev. 1.2.
Charging Downstream Port (CDP) mode is supported when the upstream port is
connected; DCP mode is the final fallback when the upstream port is not connected
and other charging modes are disabled or unsupported. Each port supports individual
overcurrent detection and per-port or ganged power switching.
The TUSB2514B operates without an external EEPROM using pin-strap
configuration. Pin-strap selectable features include per-port battery charging, port
enable/disable, and activity indicators.
For advanced customization, the
TUSB2514B supports an I²C EEPROM or SMBus target interface to configure the Vendor
ID (VID), Product ID (PID), USB channel polarity, and additional downstream port
behavior.
