Overview

The TPS65981EVM is a complete reference design for USB Type-C and Power Delivery Applications featuring a variable DC/DC architecture to optimize board layout and minimize BOM cost.  In addition, when paired with the DP-EXPANSION-EVM the user can emulate a full-featured USB Type-C PD host or device.

LM3489 — Hysteretic PFET Buck Controller with Enable Pin

 

Analog current-sense amplifiers
INA284 — -14 to 80V, bi-directional current sense amplifier

TLV3012 — Low-power comparator with reference (push-pull)

 

Linear & low-dropout (LDO) regulators
TPS768 — 1-A, 10-V, low-dropout voltage regulator with power good & enable

 

MOSFETs
CSD87501L — 30-V, N channel NexFET™ power MOSFET, dual common drain LGA, 5.5 mOhm, gate ESD protection

 

USB port protection ICs
TPD8S300 — USB Type-C™ port protector: short-to-VBUS overvoltage and 8-ch ESD protection

 

USB power switches & charging port controllers
TPS2500 — 0.13-1.4A adjustable ILIMIT, 1.8-5.25V, 80mΩ USB power switch + boost converter in Eco-mode
