Overview

This reference design demonstrates a space-grade battery management system. The circuit measures eight battery cells in series to monitor battery health, state of charge and temperature.

Features
  • Radiation performance – 75krad / 72MeV
  • Manage eight 4.2V Li-ion batteries
  • Battery monitoring accuracy: ±1mV (Battery = 3V to 4.2V)
  • GPIO controlled battery balancing circuit
  • Scalability to measure up to 28 batteries
  • Low leakage current capabilities: 0.02μA
  • Board dimensions: 5.5in × 4in
