RNSEM-3P-RNS802
Overview
The 5G small-cell 5-watt radio unit (RU) includes RANsemi's RNS802 and supports Texas Instruments' RF transceivers from the AFE77xxD family. The RNS802 is a purpose-designed PHY SoC for 5GNR/LTE small cell disaggregated and integrated RAN architectures, and includes support for industry-leading Open RAN specifications. The SoC interfaces with a layer 2/3 stack via the SCF FAPI interface over PCIe. The RNS802 supports seamless interfacing to Radio Units (O-RU) via the O-RAN Open Fronthaul eCPRI interface, or directly to RFICs with a standardized JESD204B high-speed serial interface.

- RF board using NXP A5M36TG140 – Dual stage module designs integrating LDMOS integrated circuit as driver and GaN as a final stage amplifier.
- SFP+ connector for 25-G data transfer for front haul communication eCPRI
- Three UART serial interfaces to facilitate micro-USB port access, sync control for the GNSS receiver, & debug headers.
