The OPT4001DTS evaluation module (EVM) is a platform for evaluating the performance of the OPT4001 in the DTS package. OPT4001 is a high-speed, high-precision digital ambient light sensor, and can be used in various lighting conditions as well as behind various cover materials.
OPT4001DTSEVM consists of two PCBs. The first is the OPTMBEVM motherboard that contains a USB interface to communicate with a computer running GUI evaluation software, a socket for plugging in a coupon board and a MSP430 microprocessor that acts as a bridge between the PC and the device plugged into the socket. This board also provides power to the light sensor and sends and receives appropriate digital signals between the light sensor and the PC. The second board is the OPT4001 coupon board, which contains the OPT4001 and a decoupling capacitor. The coupon board plugs into the motherboard allowing quick evaluation using our software when plugged in and allows the coupon to be removed for direct access to the device pins for evaluation in your system.
