Overview

The TPS7A74 evaluation module (EVM) helps design engineers evaluate the operation and performance of the TPS7A74 linear regulator for possible use in their own circuit application. This EVM configuration contains a single low-noise, small-size, linear regulator for a wide range of applications. The regulator is capable of delivering up to 1.5 A to the load with low VIN-to-VOUT dropout.

For stability, use a minimum derated output capacitance of  4.7-µF (or larger). An added high-performance load-transient circuit is included to improve the measurement capability of the low-dropout (LDO) regulator.

Features
  • VOUT range: 0.65 V to 5.5 V
  • Low dropout (LDO): 60 mV (typ) at 1.5 A, VBIAS = 5 V
  • Power-good (PG) output allows supply monitoring or provides a sequencing signal for other supplies
  • 2% accuracy over line, load and temperature
  • Programmable soft start provides linear-voltage start up
