<p>This reference design implements a common circuit in high-voltage DC buses – precharge – with newer, smaller, and more cost-efficient components. This design features the TPSI3100-Q1 isolated switch driver, which provides reinforced isolation between voltage domains and does not require a secondary side bias supply for driving field-effect transistors (FET). TPSI3100-Q1 also offers integrated digital comparators for fault detection which, in this design, is used for overcurrent protection. This design is rated for an 800V battery management system (BMS) but can also be implemented in 400V systems.</p>
