Overview

This current-mode control buck converter provides 12V @ 4.2A over a wide 14V - 36V input voltage range. It uses minimal component count and a 500KHz switching frequency to occupy approximately 1 sq-inch of board area. It achieves a peak efficiency of 95.7% at 24Vin and 2A load.

Features
  • Greater than 95% efficiency from 0.8A to 3.7A (24Vin)
  • Small size (~1 sq-inch)
  • Excellent load transient performance of less than 150mV for a 100% load step (24Vin)
  • This reference design has been lab tested and is supported with design files and an application note
