BQ79826Q1EVM-086 is a prototype evaluation module and is available in limited quantities.
The BQ79826Z-Q1 Evaluation Module (EVM), also referred to as BMS086, describes the general features, theory of operation, hardware setup, and use of TI's BQ79826Z-Q1 device. The BQ79826ZQ1 device is a highly integrated stackable 26- cell monitor with up to 300mA passive balancing current capability, ±1.25mV cell voltage sensing accuracy, and integrated OV/UV cell protector. This device also has 20 multi-purpose GPIO pins with additional temperature sensing capabilities, SPI/I2C controler bus support, and ASIL-D functional safety capability. BQ79826Z-Q1 integrates an electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement engine for in-system cell operation diagnostics and early cell failiure detection. This device is primarily used in automotive battery packs, industrial and comercial energy storage systems (ESS), and cell monitoring applications with advanced diagnostic capabilities for functional safety enabled systems. The BMS086 evaluation board is intended for examining the potential device use-case in systems containing large format lithium-ion battery pack applications to provide monitoring, system protection, and daisy-chain communications
